Has anyone else been experiencing vivid dreams in pg? Have any of them been meaningful?
I'm having totally weird ones, lovely ones and horrible ones. Every time I have a horrible one I search it for a meaning in case its a warning and I'm drive myself mad. Last night I dreamed about croissants...whats that all about?!!
Anyone else?

I definitely did, not that I can remember any of them now. A bit like the ones you have when you go back to sleep in the mornings. Actually that maybe part of it for me, I was up a lot at night for one thing and another so it was probably the same sort of sleep

I had really long and detailed dreams... they were so annoying I even asked the midwife about it! She reassured me it was perfectly normal when preggo to have odd dreams. Just your brain doing a download of everything going on I guess?

If my brain is downloading everything, who put croissants in there?!!Smile
He he, I'm going to spend the day trying to upload thoughts of tropical beaches and wild nights with Michael Palin then...hey, I'm pg...I'm allowed to have weird fantasies!

Very long, detailed dreams here too. My parents are in most of them as are lots of random people from my past. Some of them are nice but others are absolutely awful.

I don't remember the dreams being quite this vivid when I had DD.

I dream vividly about going out and having fun/getting drunk/dancing seeing as I can't do those things any more and I miss them.

Last night I was in Brighton living it up! Grin

I dreamt last night that after my section they forgot to take out the placenta and that the umbilical cord was hanging out of me ( sorry tmi) and that I needed to pull it so the placenta would come away
I think its to do with anxiety

would prefer dreams about beaches or living it up in brighton though!

japhrimel · 02/11/2010 10:32

Oooh yes. Can't think of any meaning in them though!

hazchem · 02/11/2010 10:34

I've had plenty of weird dreams the only one if have decided has any meaning is the one where i was holding my baby and kissing it saying i love you i love you.

I started having these at the weekend. So vivid and a lot of them involve me putting the baby down and then not being able to find it again.

There was also one involving a giant squid and I attempted to tell DP about it while still half asleep. I couldn't understand why he found it so funny...

I keep dreaming the baby is born (I'm 17 weeks with my first) and it's small, about as big as it would be now, but perfect and everything's ok, because I know it's going back inside for the rest of the time after we've had a cuddle. And the baby is always wearing different costumes. The night before my amnio I dreamed the baby had come out for a cuddle but was wearing a full suit of armour and carrying a shield. I've also seen it wearing national dress of various countries, a football strip and chefs whites so far. Always at the end I kiss the bambino and it waves before beaming, star trek style, back into my belly. I usually wake up not long after. Pretty strange. Dh was pleased to hear it was the football strip of his favourite club, Arsenal :)

Oh, and my best friend says she had very vivid dreams in both her pg's. Mostly of giving birth to animals; she said the worst was a crocodile! Poor thing. Apparenty it's normal, probably, like everything, hormonal :)
