Baby Movements at 31 weeks

I'm 31 weeks pregnant, over the past two days the baby has not been moving as much as in the last few weeks, it is still moving but mainly i'm feeling just little movements during the day and only feeling big movements when i'm lying down in the evening. Is this normal or should i go for a check up. I don't want to just look paranoid!

I'd call your MW to be extra safe, but it's possible the baby has shifted position. Mine is now facing the placenta alot during the day so I don't feel as many big kicks (as she's presumably kicking the placenta!).

Go and get checked out. If you phone the labour suite they will be able to monitor you there. The community mw won't be much good as they only have dopplers and you need the monitors that measure movement as well as hb.

Don't worry about looking paranoid. They don't mind seeing people who have concerns and changes/reductions in movement do warrant investigation.

I'm 30 weeks and had the same thing over the weekend time, less movement. Phoned midwife this morning who said to phone delivery suite. I also felt but paranoid and silly - but I was concerned!

Explained to them my worries and they said to come in this morning to be checked. Hospital midwife's were great, really lovely and said they had no problem with people phoning and coming in to get checked. had heartbeat traced for 20 minutes and no problems. Left feeling much happier and comfortable!

If you have concerns then phone them!

ditto above, same happened to me, dont be afraid to ring them.

I'm the same! 30 weeks and after movements getting really strong last week they really died down this week! Perhaps i should go in but I spent time in hospital last week (don't ask) and can't face going back!

Went to midwife yesterday and heartbeat is fine. Japhrimel - she said the same thing about the placenta! She said as long as I'm feeling 10 movements a day all is fine. I was, but they were a lot fewer and weaker than they had been before...

hmmmm, when i went in i was monitored on labour ward. if your worried ring again, and say its the same. Labour ward told me if you present twice with reduced movement they have to do a scan to check bloodflow (guidelines). If your instinct is telling u its somethings up follow your instinct.
