How early did your BH start?

I don't remember ever feeling braxton hicks with DS, either I didn't have them or they were so mild I never noticed.

This time (I am 25 weeks) I have noticed a 'tightening' in my bump quite a bit, bump is then quite hard for a bit. Is this BH? And how early have you felt them? From seeing other threads, people seem to get them nearer the end and I am a bit concerned at how early I am feeling them. I have been feeling them for a few weeks now, if indeed that is what the tightening is.

This time I have been getting them from around 26 weeks, and some days in the evenings, they are quite strong, and constant for about an hour - fun!! Feels like the contents of my tummy are being vacuum-packed. HTH Smile

I've always had BH throughout my pregnancies, couldn't tell you how early I first notice them,I actually didn't realise until my third DD that it wasn't something everyone felt!! I'm now 26 weeks and again had BH or " tightenings" for several weeks, some days more often than others, usually triggered by movement..turning over in bed, a bumpy car journey, walking up hill..anything really. Tend to think of them as good practice warm up exercises!

Oh good. At least its normal then. I kept thinking I was going to go into labour early.

im 34+1 with my first baby and have been getting BH since 22 weeks!
Some days definately more noticeable than others but i do seem to get them at the very least a few times a day, but do find they seem stronger in the evenings!

Braxton Hicks are actually there from the beginning of pregnancy but you don't feel then because your womb is still only small and hasn't been stretched. Most people feel them from the middle of the 1st trimester and they become more aware of them as they move into the later stages. They are nothing to worry about and they don't mean that labour is imminent.

I meant middle of the 2nd trimester, not 1st!

I had them (first pregnancy) from 16 weeks! Was convinced I would go into premature labour but DS hung in there till his due date Smile

I've been having them since about 20 weeks, wasn't sure what they were but asked mw and she said it's quite common and related to baby's movements.

I had my first one 4 days ago, uncomfortable but not sore. Am 21 weeks. Not had one since though.

Can't say I've noticed and I am 28 weeks, must take more notice of the bump!
