Please don't let me be PFB...

I have found myself paying more attention to birth stories and immediately post birth stories. And am drawing up a list of things I don't want to do. For entertainment value (and once the hormones have calmed down), I plan to pull out the list again about a year after my PFB comes along to see if I stuck to it and to wet myself laughing at how unrealistic I am Anyone want to join me?

On my list:

  • I will allow visitors (but will expect them to sort themselves out and not stay for hours)
  • I will let other people hold my baby and, if bottle fed, feed the baby
  • I will not forget that I am a person and will find time to go out, without baby, even if it's just for a saturday morning coffee round the corner with DH while DM watches baby
  • I will be gracious to MIL when she turns up but firm with my expectations
  • I will not forget how to talk to adults and will not be focused only on poo
  • I will shower daily and wash my hair at least every second day

I also daydream about eating healthily, long strenous walks with the baby and pram to help lose the baby weight so that in fact I am thinner and more gorgeous than pre-pregnancy, but even I'm not unrealistic enough to actually put that on the "this is going to happen" list! Grin

great idea!

made me think of mine... just off the top of my head...!

-I will allow others to help me instead of saying "no, no, I'll do it myself" (and then not do it)

-I will not put pressure on myself to go back to work until I am ready to.

-I will not wallow in self pity because I am doing this on my own and will instead take pleasure and pride in being a great mum

  • I will learn how to keep on top of the laundry

I will continue to blow dry my hair, not just let nature take it's course once I've washed it.

After my experiences with DS 5.5 years ago, one of my only ones is

  • I will remember that a sleeping baby means I should have a nap too, not that I have an hour to enjoy a glass of wine, then find myself up all night with an awake baby.

vmcd I could NEVER do that with DD! Will try to with this one

FindingGuys, me neither - I was so excited at being able to properly drink wine again! Plus, it was the one thing that made me feel "back to normal" if that makes sense. I'm ashamed to say that a case of white from Virgin wines arrived yesterday - I'm already planning ahead...
