How long did it take for your Maternity Allowance claim to be processed?

Desperate for some money. How long did you have to wait from when you sent off the application form?

i sent the form on the monday afternoon and it was in my bank 9 days later.

have you phoned them to make sure it is all being processed okay?

I don't understand the form - I am self employed and can't find anywhere to state when I want my MA to begin. I am due the 19/12 but pla on finishing working on 03/12 because I will be having an elective caesarean, probably aroud 10/12. Where do I put this information?

Cath - have you sent off the form? If not send it off now - no date needed on this form. They will send you confirmation of how much you are entitled to and another form which you sign and post back the minute you stop working. You should start receiving your money 5-7 working days after this.
