hinchingbrooke renovation - impact?

I have just found out that Hinchingbrooke Hospital is starting 4-6 months of major renovation works which will impact both the birthing centre and the medical side.

All I can find out is that 'impact will be kept to a minimum', 'the birthing unit should still be fully manned', and 'we hope the birthing pool will be available as normal'.

Anyone know anything more / better?

Anyone with any recent experience of this hospital, good and bad?

Perhaps I should re-book into Addenbrookes.

The Rosie at Addenbrookes has also just started major renovations (Well starts in Nov) and they are due to last until either 2011 or 2012, can't remember which. Whole new birth suite planned etc etc , can probably find info online.

I'm due to give birth there in a few weeks. Had my tour around Hinchingbrooke last week. The delivery suite is being refurbished and is due to reopen in the New Year. The midwife-led centre (where the pool is) is not affected and is open as usual. Delivery suite has moved to a nearby ward which was refurbished about a year or so ago - birthing rooms are in what used to be three or four person bays so they're massive! I really don't think the refurb should affect any patient too badly - the place it's moved too is a lot nicer than the old delivery suite was.
