I'm 30+5,live alone, work from home etc and starting to get the willies about all the situations I might get myself into over the last few weeks.

I keep reading about ladies who can't get out of the bath with out their OH's help, and I definitely don't want to have to call the fire brigade out if it happens to me!

Also getting the general heebie jeebies about being eaten by my cat if something should happen to me and no one finds out in time

So, did you get stuck in the bath? And is there anything else I shouldn't be attempting without someone on standby?

I realise this is a monumentally stupid question, but unfortunately, I'm genuinely worried...

At 32 weeks I'm only slightly ahead of you so I can't offer a huge amount of advice I was just hoping to quell your anxiety a little bit.

While I find I'm less mobile, I wouldn't say I ever get into situations where I'm genuinely stuck. I do often need DH's help to get up but that's more out of convenience than necessity really. If he's not here I just oh so elegantly roll around the place until I get myself in a position where I can haul myself up.

How are you managing at the moment? If you're pretty much ok then you shouldn't have too many problems. Not being able to get up is usually the result of the stomach muscles becoming useless due to the bump. Seeing as that has probably already happened to you you've probably already found ways around it or are naturally avoiding situations where it will be a problem. If you're genuinely worried about the bath, can you stick to showers?

I think it's pretty normal to start getting anxious around the stage we're at and to start imagining scenarios. My sex drive is ridiculous at the moment so your firemen pulling you out of the bath image isn't too offputting for me!

Oh and if you're worried that you'll have an accident or something you can get a panic button (not sure who sells them, but should be easy to find online). You wear it around your neck and you either connect it to the number of a family friend or to the emergency services who will be alerted as soon as you press it. Would give you a lot of peace of mind.

Alternatively is there someone you could ask to text you every night at the same time? Tell them to give you 10 minutes to reply and if you don't they need to call and if they still don't get a reply they need to come around or send someone else around. It would be reassuring for you to know that someone is checking up on you in case the worst happens.

I am 39+6 and can get out of the bath myself. I do let know dh he has to keep an ear open in case anything does happen but it hasn't been an issue. I just kinda turn round so I'm on all fours and then get up that way.

Writer - yes I am already rolling around gracefully in order to get out of bed, off the sofa etc. Good idea about the regular text, will ask the mothership if this is possible.

I would just avoid anything obviously risk-laden. So don't start climbing ladders, or even steps in the kitchen to reach high shelves if you can possibly help it.

I perfected a roll off the sofa onto all fours and then a clamber up from there when I was pg with DS. I am 19 weeks with DC2 and can already tell that it is going to be needed much sooner this time around!
