Pains after sex

My sex drive has remained pretty stable for most of my pregnancy (ie pretty high) and even though DH's drive has gone down somewhat we've still been having sex about twice a week.

I am now 32 weeks pregnant and for the last couple of weeks I've been getting crampy pains in the bottom of my bump and the top of my legs after sex. These pains can continue all day and even though I can still walk etc they are quite uncomfortable. The first time I had them I'd been on top so I thought it was caused by the strain on my pelvis. However today we did spoons and I got the same pain all day again.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there any way I can stop them? Seeing as I still have 2 months to go I don't want to go off sex completely if I can but I don't want to have those pains every time either.

Im not really sure but didnt want to leave this one unanswered & get it bumped...

Is it not contractions caused by your orgasm?

I have read that orgasm can cause your uterus to contract & with you being 32 weeks they may just be a bit more intense now?

Hopefully someone will give you a more accurate answer...xxx

Thanks ellesbelles I was thinking that they might be braxton hicks but I wasn't sure. I should have asked the midwife about them but I was too embarrassed, which I know is silly but it's just that she's a little odd and every time I ask a question or mention something that's happening she sort of looks at me as if she doesn't understand what I'm saying Confused. I really didn't want to ask her the sex question and that uncomprehending look

i'm pretty sure the crampy pains at the bottom of your bump are contractions (Braxton Hicks or just the uterus contracting) due to orgasm. pretty normal. not sure about top of the legs though!

Yeah sotough the cramps at the top of my legs are really weird, maybe the braxton hicks are irritating the nerves in my back and sending pains down my legs? I am finding pregnancy pretty hard going these days and I'm mighty pissed off that sex might have to be off the menu for the rest of the time!
