My first ever posting! I'm expecting my 4th baby and it wasn't until well into 3rd trimester i had aches. But I'm just 19 weeks pregnant and feel like I'm about 35 weeks. My tummy (under the bump)aches by the afternoon, bending over is difficult already, and climbing the stairs - well ,I feel an 80 yr old!

Is this normal? Is it cos i'm that much older (40)??! Any comment appreciated!

Mine has been like this today too!

Only second pregnancy though, and I'm only 33 Grin

I've been feeling poorly and had a UTI recently though so I wondered if it was that causing it.

Hi legaljournalist, I think all of this is totally normal. I've just made it to 20 weeks, this is my 1st baby, and I have been surprised how lame I am! My bump aches a lot - although it does go away some weeks. I have a suspicion it might be linked to growth spurts of the baby. But I also do find it is worse if I've been trying to do too much.

And I'm definitely going to have to find some kind of super-easy-to-slip-on shoes that I can wear over the winter, as I'm totally struggling to put my shoes on already! I have to sit on the edge of my bed and prop my foot on the windowsill to do my laces up now...

I don't think it'll have anything to do with your age - I'm 34 and was pretty fit before pregnancy. I'm no expert (apart from the fact that I have read the entire internet when it comes to all of these issues), but all my friends have said that each pregnancy has affected them differently. Plus you now have 3 other kids to look after! Presumably that is going to contribute to your energy levels...?
