Hi, I am 16 weeks preg and for about a week I have had tiny red pin prick sized dots along the top of my pubic hair that are so itchy I want to rip my skin off. I also had a couple on my hands but they have gone. They arent raised or weeping or bleeding or anything, could it maybe be a heat rash or something? The mw said yesterday that I might just have weird skin??
Any ideas?

Heat rash. Check your armpits. If you have them there too you'll be sure of it.

Could it be this?

Avoiding hot baths/showers and wearing layers of cotton clothing might help. With my OC (which does NOT have a rash with it) I have to have warmish showers ending with a cold rinse.

No, its not that, I am COVERED in stretch marks from eing 18 stone aout ten years ago, and having a big first baby, and I know the kind of thing you mean. I think its a heat rash/prickly heat type thing :(

Looks and feels like prickly heat rash? might be 'atopic eruption of pregnancy'. Treat regularly with emollient, take an antihistamine at night (chlorphenamine) (dbl check which you can take whilst pregnant) and if the itching is really unbearable then go to the doctor and if they agree it is AEP then may prescribe topical steroid cream.

I had this on my tummy, legs, ankles, knees, thighs and lower arms from 15 weeks to 19 weeks. Drove me nuts. It's almost gone completely now (apart from the ankles). Midwife may want to check for OC by taking bloods, but it is about 15 weeks too early for this.

Hope you get it sorted, it really is unpleasant, but good news is, it doesn't necessarily last until you give birth. So there is hope for a blossoming yet!!
