Any one have Vitiligo

Just curious if any of you mums and mums-2-B have Vitiligo... I've had it from childhood and have noticed some repigmentation occurring over the last couple of months. Not sure if it's due to being pregnant so wanted to check if anyone else had experienced this...

I have vitiligo and it hasn't changed since being pregnant. However I'm not surprised you've noticed this as you can get chloasma in pregnancy making normal coloured skin darker and of course your nipples get darker in pregnancy so why not your vitilgo

I have vitiligo and have had it since the age of 4 (i'm now 39). As a kid I was repeatedly forced to sit in the shade and cover up with vast amounts of maximum strength sun lotion. However, securing a job abroad and living in hot climates saw me rebel against doing this and consequently virtually all my patches have re-pigmented and considering I had large patches on every single joint, this is a vast improvement. It did not get any worse/better during pregnancy. I have tried all lotions and potions and various forms of waterproof camouflage makeup specifically for the job but thankfully now it is not so noticeable.

Interesting info Trifle.
I had some repigmentation therapy a couple of years ago, which did repigment a lot of my patches, but it soon faded back to what it was before.

Mines on most joints, my hands, feet, inside my thighs, under my arms, and on my forearms. I've really noticed the repigementation on my hands and elbows. I must admit, I don't wear total block, but I do wear sun cream if I'm going in the sun. It'll probably fade after the birth.

I'm 36 and have had vitiligo since I was 7. Never thought it would get any better so it's interesting what you say about yours repigmenting in the sun. Is there a higher risk of skin cancer if you do this?

My best friend has it and it gets a lot more noticable when she goes out in the sun as obviously she goes brown and her white bits stay white and therefore stand out more. I think she said it got worse when she was pregnant. She's having laser treatment to reduce it in the areas she's concious of it.
