A bit nervous today!

Good morning! So, I have my second internal scan today at 7+2 and I know I probably shouldn't worry but I am dreading going in and them telling me bad news. I am having it as at 5+2 I had terrible pains and thanks to an internal scan they found that I had a 4cm cyst on my left ovary. They had a look at bean and found it was exactly where it should be but obviously it was too early to see anything of interest. I am just worried that I will go back today and there will still be nothing of interest. I know I am probably worrying over nothing but with this being my first pg anything worries me easily! :-/

I meant to say that I am not having the scan cos they thought there was a problem with bean but because they wanted to see what was happening with the cyst but they will obviously have a look to make sure bean is okay!

good luck :)

I had my first ever scan yesterday and was SO nervous, so I can sympathise! I'd heard lots of horror stories and hadn't slept properly for 2 days before. In the end all was ok, except that bean was bouncing around maniackly (prob because of all the adrenaline in me!) and I was utterly exhausted afterwards with all the worry i'd put myself through. I'd suggest that unless you've had a reason to worry since your last scan- bleeding, different pain etc, try to put it to the back of your mind if you can. One good scan so far is a good sign and too much stress isn't great for bean. Let us know how you get on :)

Thanks.

Tinwe I know you're right. And no, I have had no other cause for concern but I suppose until this scan is over and I get to the 12 week point I probably won't stop worrying! :) So pleased to hear all was well with you and your bean. Was yours an early scan too or your 12 week one?

Keep us posted, thinking of you. x

I had exactly the same experience as you with my second pregnancy, with the cyst and the scans at the same time.

They just kept an eye on it, and by the time I got to 20 weeks, it had almost disappeared. Ds is almost 11 months now, and all was fine.

Good luck.

Well, am pleased to say that the cyst is now smaller than it was two weeks ago and my little bean's heart is pumping away nice and strongly. Such a relief! Now to count down to the 12 week scan!! Thanks for the messages. Pinkjenny, did they say it was just a one off or could it happen again? x

Brilliant news. Do you mean another cyst or pain happening again?

The cyst disappeared (I assume!) and I never experienced any problems, nor was I told it would be something to keep an eye on.

I know they checked it at my 12 and 20 week scans, though.

Woohoo! Good news!
