breech baby how to tell

Hi,

Seems maternity good is no good for me and my MN addition as can't stop posting

I have a question - every since Midwife has been palpating, baby's position has been noted as Cephallic on my notes (since about 28 weeks) my last check was 34+3 and am now 36+3. Since then (last 4/5 days) I seem to be feeling kicks a lot lower than before - mid abdomen on the right side about 3 inches above belly button, and less often feeling movement by my ribs. I am also feeling a lot of smaller movements lower down by my hip.
am worried that baby might have turned breech? does anyone know where i would feel movements if baby was breech? Is it likely after being cephallic for so long?

could it just be that baby has moved lower and is engaging, i have also felt a lot of pressure in my cervix/pubic area in the last few days with period like pains.
My next midwife appt is in a week when i'll be 37+3.
any ideas anyone?
Smile

Both my DDs have been breech 'til really late. you can feel a hard head under your ribs - especially when you bend down - and eye-watering kicks on your bladder. I think it's really unlikely your baby will have moved (gravity makes it quite tough) but in my experience the best thing to do is stop worrying as you can drive yourself mad analysing every kick and groping your tummy inexpertly!

Good luck.

sounds like it is dropping down to engage -

especially as you are feeling movements near the pelvis.

the MWs will tell you at next check otherwis!
