Obstetric Cholestasis 40 weeks worried

Hello Im 40+3 and have been having a bit of itching on and off espeically backs of my hands (not palms) and sometimes face. Paid no real attention but last night was awake all night going crazy itching all over. Still quite annoying this morning. Got up and googled itching so late in pregnancy and now Im scared stiff about Obstetric Cholestasis especially so late in pregnancy. Baby still moving round lots and keeping a close eye on that due to be induced next Wed but don't know whether I should talk to MW/GP today just in case...

Definitely! Or call your hospital Assessment Unit if they have one. Make sure they check your Bile Acid and clotting levels as well as your Liver Function tests.

OC is quite rare, but OC-like itching in pregnancy should never be dismissed.

rang midwife told me to go get bloods done asap surgery very good should get results tomorrow keeping eye on movements but going back to get someone to listen to hearbeat scared me so much thanks for your helpjaphrimel

I had OC and eventually had DS at 42 weeks (due to loads of medical mistakes and miscommunication!)

He is fine
