19 weeks, no movement...am I expecting too much?

I am 19 weeks with DC3, with DD1 I felt movements at 20 weeks and DD2 it was 19 weeks so I expected to feel movements by this stage. Am I expecting too much or should I begin to worry? (BTW: I had apt with doc at 17 weeks and heard heartbeat so all was well then)

I wouldn't worry too much - especially as you've heard the hb now. I'm in a similar position. 16 wks with dc3, and convinced I felt movements way before this last time round! I don't know whether its the same for you, but its that funny limbo period when the morning sickness has subsided, yet there is no movement yet - there are no real pregnancy signs to reassure you until the 20 week scan! All the best, I'm sure everything is fine.

I won't be having a scan till 28 weeks so I really want the movements to start so I can be reassured, your right though, it's a strange time in the pregnancy, you really don't feel or look pregnant most of the time and yet your nearly half way through!

That is quite a while to wait - will you have a mw appt before then to hear the hb again? Maybe you could call her for a quick chat saying you're concerned?

Sorry, maybe that last post implies I think you have something to worry about - I really don't, but if it will put your mind at rest, maybe call her (or him - I had a male mw deliver my first!) x

Im due to go back for check up at 22 weeks but I can go back earlier if I feel I need to, might go at 21 weeks if I still haven't felt movement,

Thanks for the replies, it's good to bounce it off someone!

I wouldn't worry. I had movement at 18 weeks, then lost it around 19/20. 20 week scan showed my placenta is at the front and baby was facing my back, so the movement is cushioned. I have it back again now, but it's definitely sporadic. You might be similar.
