Anyone else writing a letter to their baby?

I am 31 weeks pregnant with my first born. I am thinking of writing a letter to my son.

I was thinking I might put in stuff about the following:

how loved and wanted he is
how we felt when we found out I was pregnant
how we felt at each scan
how we felt when we found out he was a boy
how we chose his name
the good parts of each of us we hope he wil inherit
our promises to teach him/make him feel etc

Is anyone else doing something like this and has anyone got ideas on what else to put in and how to actually present it - card, letter, in a box etc?

Thanks

duke

Hi Duke, I'm keeping a pregnancy journal on the pregnancy bit of fertility friend. Just recounting little stories from the day, how I feel and what we're up to. It prints out into a nice Baby Book which I think I'll give to him/her on 13th birthday or when old enough to understand about the birds and bees! Will be nice for him/her to know excited and involved we were about his/her impending arrival, whilst also being light-hearted and giving interesting insights into our experience. No doubt some will think this is may be OTT... only drawback is that you HAVE to do the same for every subsequent child or look forward to major issues ! [hgrin]

I'm also keeping a pregnancy journal. By 'journal' I just mean a word document on my computer that I update every few days or weeks.

It is more for my sake than the baby's, just so in ten years time I can look back at this period. It isn't designed to be funny, cute or interesting - just a record. For example, I wrote down how we told our parents the news - where we were, what their reactions were etc. I think that'll be great to look back on in ten years.

I might show it to my child when he or she is starting their own family.

Aw this is lovely! Im writing a letter and creating a bit of a memory box, but its mainly because LOs dad wont be involved or around, and I thought it would be helpful when she asks when she is older to have a letter from me now explaining the situation and making sure she knoww how loved she is.
