Small for dates and slow heartbeat - any success stories?

Went for a scan today and should have measured 7+2, I know when I ovulated as I was charting my bbt.

Last week sac measured 6 weeks and there was a heartbeat although it looked erratic to me they didn't say anything other than you'll be fine.

Lost pregnancy symptoms over the week so went in for another scan today. Baby measures 6+3 and hb is slow. Nurse wasnt at all reassuring, but then said they won't do anything as long as there's heartbeat. I got the impression that I either have to wait for it to stop or naturally miscarry or pray for a miracle. Despite this my notes say viable pregnancy.

I desperately want to hear reassuring stories of women who've had this but the pregnancies have gone on to be fine. I've already had 2 early miscarriages in the last 12 months. Sad

I don't have any experience or advice except to say I am sorry you are going through this. It must be incredibly hard. However, lots of people do seem to have success stories against great odds so hopefully someone will be able to come along shortly and share some with you.

Hi digitalgirl - i have been on some of the same buses as you and am sorry to hear that you are having this worrying time.

When i was pg with DD2 at about 7 weeks i bled and had a real loss of symptoms - i knew i was smack bang on with dates too but they insisted i was less than i was - she had what appeared to be an erratic hb too and there was bleeding visible within and around the sack. Suffice to say it rectified itself and the next scan i had a week later i was told that dates can be out a week either way anyway.

Im not going to say that its definately going to be ok - i really hope it is for you though - the nurse wasnt reassuring because she wants you to be prepared for all of the possibilities.

It was ok for me and i really really hope its going to be ok for you - try and keep positive (difficult i know) it can and very well might be fine please let us know how you get on xx

digitalgirl - I don't have any advice as such, I just wanted to say thinking of you. Do you have another scan booked in?

xxx

Thanks Rosie - I really really hope that I have the same luck as you. I've not had any bleeding, but I know that's no indication of this going well.
