Has anyone done a baby first aid course recently?

Would be very grateful for any suggestions on the best course to choose and if you felt it was a helpful thing to do.

I did one last year; think it was with the Royal Lifesaving Society. I found it really helpful. And I keep the little card with instructions handy as am scared would blank if real emergency.

It was just for a couple of hours, or so, btw, so not too time consuming but lots good information

There are some free ones being run by Tesco and the Red Cross (think they are on the Tesco website) - I am off to one on Weds eve.

I did one 4 months ago, organised by my SureStart centre. It lasted 3 hours so my husband had to take the day off work to look after DS. The teacher was a right chatter box (St Johns Ambulance man) and it could really have been 2 hours. But it was very good, very useful. I'd recommend you go on one if you can!

The Health Visitors run First Aid sessions in our area - worth checking with them as it's free!

Red Cross run one - I think it is about £40

Thanks all.

I found a St John's Ambulance one but it seems to be aimed at professionals such as teachers and childminders and costs £105.

We went through our local childrens centre which was free. The two hour course was done by the red cross which they charge £45.00 to do directly. We found it really benefical it covered both babies and toddlers.
