Posh frocks- where can i buy?!

Afternoon all,

I've got a posh do coming up in a couple of weeks, and I need a slinky bump and black tie-friendly number to wear. Also hoping it will do me for our work Xmas party! I'll be 28 weeks when the posh do is, and i'd like to look nice and not like i'm wearing a giant tent!

Would consider something floor length, but preferably more knee length that flatters the figure but doesn't look like i'm wearing a huge smock Grin

I've seen a gorgeous dress from Isabella Oliver, but it's 100 quid Shock and I really can't justify that amount of money at the moment.

Topshop maternity don't have anything online at the mo, and I can't think of anywhere else... don't really want to trawl the shops trying on 'normal' size dresses on the off-chance that something will fit and look okay.

Can anyone help/suggest a place/website with fab frocks?

I bought a dress from Tiffany Rose which was absolutely beautiful and well worth the money, but it is the same kind of price range as Isabella Oliver. You could try Asos Maternity for more reasonable options - they do have some dressy stuff as well as more casual options? But my Tiffany Rose dress (which is called 'Grace' if you want to take a look) will definitely still work post pregnancy, as the fabric is so stretchy that it really doesn't need to look like a maternity dress... so i think it's a genuine investment!

JoJoMamanBebe have a few options, I bought a dress for a wedding from there. All under £40 and you get a MN discount.

You could try Blossom.

Its generally expensive BUT they have a sale/outlet section where you may be able to snap up a lovely bargain designer maternity dress.

Ditto for Mamanlamode - also have a sale section.

There are several loveley dresses here which would be perfect for black tie dinner type thing and rather than being several hundred quid they are around £60 to £70.

Here lots of lovely ones too but still very very expensive.

There is also Seraphine Maternity and there is this particular dress: www.seraphine.com/maternity-clothes-categories/maternity-dresses/displayProduct.asp?idproduct=1158&idcategory=140&title=Strapless+Cocktail+Dress+in+Cream%2C+Maternity+Dresses
which look particularly lovely and £69

And all of their dresses here: www.seraphine.com/maternity-clothes-categories/maternity-dresses/

I saw this in Marks and Spencers in Red on Sunday and thought it was lovely, but couldn't think of any event I could wear it to between now and due date!

Thanks ladies- lots of the dresses you've suggested look lovely!

Think maybe I will splash some cash, as hopefully I might be able to sell on Ebay afterwards and get some of what I spend back! Smile

The best place i found was isabella oliver. Gorgeous things but a bit ££. I bought a dress for a christening from there and it's great. I think there might be a discount on MN
