Bump is a bit lethargic today

Bump not moving so much today though it did have an active night and moves when I poke it. It's okay for it to have some lazy days right - I mean it is moving a bit. At what point do I worry? Am 33 weeks.

Phone your MW if you're concerned.
That said, I wouldn't be worried. About 7-8 months they start to have sleep patterns just like newborns, and you know how much newborns sleep? So a quiet morning after a busy night about makes sense!

I think this is one of those occasions when a phonecall to your midwife would be more sensible then posting to a forum. Any change in baby movement is worth querying but don't panic it's very likely nothing to worry about.

If you are worried ring now. Otherwise try and keep a check on the bump and if it doesn't have some more active movements that you recognise as normal for you then call anyway. No harm in getting baby checked at all and whilst movemnt varies a maintained slow down (iyswim) should be checked.

My DD was always very lively. One day she wasn't. I panicked and ended up going to the hospital to be monitored. The doctor asked me what I'd eaten that day, the answer was nothing. A couple of samosas and she was as right as rain.
Have you eaten?

Yellowflowers · 26/10/2010 12:10

oh my I have eaten so much - very hungry day today. I had three breakfasts - if you count toast as one, cereal as another and slice of banana loaf as a third. Maybe baby is moving but I can't feel it under all the food! When I poke belly it moves though. Will do the have cold drink and lie down thing shortly.

I'd call the MW just to be sure and put your mind at rest but I've experienced this the whole way through. I'm now 39+1 and found baby has busy days followed by some very quiet, lazy days. Still get my 10 movements a day but she definately had days where she couldn't be bothered to do much... Alot like her mother!!!

Cakemuncher · 26/10/2010 14:08

I agree with all the other posts - MWs prefer you to ring if you are in any way concerned about movements. It's better to err on the side of caution.

However, having said that, like the other posters, my bump has alternated busy days with quiet days all the way through the pregnancy (I am now overdue). Some days she is so busy it hurts and others, like with excited's bump, she lolls around doing little other than the odd gentle nudge.

A wee listen to the heart beat always puts your mind at rest though!

thanks - it has got a bit livelier in last hour or so so I think everything okay but will keep an eye on it for rest of day.
