Pain in the butt - literally!

Hi,

Anyone else experiencing sharp crampy pains in the buttocks after exercise? I walked the dog on Saturday and Sunday for about an hour each time, some of which was uphill, and then had very sore buttocks afterwards. At one point it was so bad I would stand up and my leg would feel like it was going to collapse (eg, getting up from sofa and having to brace myself on the arm and then limp through the house). I'm 21+4, so not yet huge, although I have put on about a stone. It went away after a couple of hours, but it was painful and worrying while it lasted. Any advice?

Do you think the pain is muscle, nerve or bone? I'm thinking you could be starting to get a bit of Pelvic Girdle Pain. Ask your midwife about it as you can get support bands and physio. It's very common and goes away once you have your baby but can be really painful.

It does usually get worse though-out your pregnancy so don't ignore it.

I think it was muscle...might have been nerve, but not sure I really know what that would feel like. Have midwife appt in a week so will ask then - especially if it comes back.
