Crib or Moses Basket?

Hi

With my DD1 we borrowed a family members moses basket (just got a new mattress) but my daughter didn't stay in it for long as she was quite big and moved into her cotbed at 12 weeks (previous house, could fit into our room).

With DC2 (not sure if girl or a boy) we haven't got option of borrowing a moses basket. We will have DD1's cotbed but it's upstairs on a 3rd floor so we can't really move it down into our bedroom for the 1st 6 months (no space).

I'm assuming (gulp) this baby will be at least 9 pounds too so will prob outgrow moses basket around 3 months old as well.

Would a crib be a better option - would this last until say 5 months when I'd feel more confident about baby being upstairs to our bedroom?

Anyone have any experience of cribs?

Thanks v much

I have had both using a crib now for ds2. All my babies have been small and dd was out her basket at 3 months. Ds2 is just 4 months and 15lbs and has heaps of time left in the crib. They are wider and longer so def do last longer than a basket. I do love mine and reckon ds will make it to 6 months in the crib. Dss slept in the same crib i'm using for 6 months and he was a massive baby.
