Achey 'period' pains at 36 weeks

PG with DC2 and not really had any Braxton Hicks contractions which I think I did have at this stage with DS; but over the last couple of days I've had a few episodes of period pain type twinges which I don't remember having at all last time (until labour kicked in properly).

Please could anyone advise if this is normal or should I hurry up and pack my bag / get ready / arrange to see midwife?

I'm 39 weeks and have had this for a few weeks... MW told me it's very normal and it's babys head burrowing into your pelvis! Nothing to worry about. I've found it really quite uncomfortable at times and it's been happening on and off for a while, so I don't think you need to pack your bags quite yet! HTH

Thanks excited, that's very reassuring as I'm not ready (practically or mentally!) yet.

I had these for the last few weeks with my last one, I had them every evening and it took me a while to realise I was in labour cause I just thought it was the normal twinges, with me it wasn't the head burrowing, she was breech, but her bum was really low in my pelvis so that may have been it!

Ouch, it is more in the evenings and spoke too soon, have had Braxton Hicks today!

All seeming a bit more imminent all of a sudden

Could be another few weeks but it's a positive sign that your body is getting ready for labour!

I felt like that at 37 weeks. Had baby that night.

i've started to have these past couple of days too! It also feels like a hot sensation in my lower pelvis (kinda like when u really really need a wee)
