I am a mum to be (due within a month), and I have discovered that my new house gets really humid, and I have discovered mould.

Is a dehumidfier safe for a newborn baby? Also what other tips could you give me regarding newborns, mould and humidity?

I am very unprepared for the whole humid business, as I never had this problems with my previous homes, and the previous tenants didn't say this house is prone to humidity.

keep the windows open for periods in the day, no wet washing to dry on radiators, clean off the mould as it comes

I went to the Baby Show yesterday and there was a company selling humidifiers and air purifiers, so I am guessing ok. I will see if I took their leaflet and send you the company's name.

The humidifiers and air purifiers that were being sold at the baby show were specifically for babies aging 0 + upwards.
I bought a air purifier to purify the air as we have cats at home, it is manufactured by Vicks and is brilliant it picks up dust germs pet hair and human hair.

The other brand was Ncessity if you look them up on google they are brilliant.

Nids - can you tell the difference? I am thinking about getting one.

Can I ask a question please.

we get a lot of condensation on our bedroom windows. Is this ok considering the baby will be in with us? Due in December so likely to get worse.

Should not be a problem as long as it doesn't turn mouldy. If you get mould, clean it with bleach. Dehumidifiers are pretty good.

I think that the purifiers clean the air where as the humidifiers let out steam and humidify the air if its too dry to regulate condensation etc..
