Bump suddenly popped out overnight and am suddenly so uncomfortable - will it pass?

Didn't have much of a bump the other week (in fact, started a thread about it!) but I seem to have popped out over night, rather than the gradual growing that I got with DS (this is DC2)

I'm really happy to be showing but am suddenly so uncomfortable - breathless going up the stairs, feel quite cartoonish proportion wise and am worried that I will be like this for the rest of the preg ...I expected to feel like this towards the end stages, but not now

DH thinks its because I popped out so quick, that my body is playing catch up

Any advice/experiences welcome [hgrin]

I've had this too with this pregnancy (DC2) not once but twice - real overnight growth spurts where I felt like I was about to pop open! I don't know if it is anything to do with not having very strong abs this time and so when the baby grows it just goes ping. Sorry not a very medically reassuring answer but just wanted to say I feel your pain! For me the stretching aching pain lasted a few days the first time and a couple of days the second growth spurt.

Oh maybe its because its second pg so my stomach muscles have no strength left! Grin They took a hammering with DS as I was pretty big!

The bump isn't aching or anything...more a general uncomfortableness as I get used to my new shape iyswim...struggling to bend a bit, puffed out easily etc

ha ha!

Puss - mine has grown steadily and I still feel like that! I don't remember getting puffed going up the stairs or only managing to eat small meals until 28 weeks or later last time, and I'm only 18 weeks!

In lots of ways I feel much better than I did with DS, no HG so I'm much fitter because I haven't spent weeks in bed, and obviously still running round after DS!

Hey Baba - how are you doing Smile

DH made a good point earlier...he said when I was pg with Ds, I wasn't up and down the stairs half as much as I am now with DS to see too and so I probably didn't notice being puffed out, whereas now I do...little things like getting up from beside his bed after reading a story etc

Makes me feel v unfit Hmm

I'm good thanks - one more week until we're off on holiday for a week, I cannot bloody wait! Are you ok, apart from the puffing? Grin

I think your DH is absolutely right. I am up and down the stairs with DS, running round after him, and there is much more tidying - so bending - and things like hoovering than when it was just DH and I living here.

Sitting at a desk all day like I did when I was pg with DS just wasn't as physically knackering!

PussinJimmyChoos · 24/10/2010 21:46

Ooh where are you off to? Somewhere nice and warm hopefully Smile

Aside from the puffing, all is good...slightly alarmed at appetite though..have no wish to end up looking like Bubbles De Vere from Little Britain Grin

We're going to the new forest - not warm but we've stayed in the hotel before and it is v.nice, lovely pool and food etc. Really looking forward to it!

Ha, I know. I'm hoping it will all even out, otherwise I will be the size I was a 40 weeks with DS by the time I hit 30 weeks!!

PussinJimmyChoos · 25/10/2010 19:56

Oooh that sounds lovely - especially the pool!

Here's hoping we even out..even DH is looking at me in wonder and saying wow, you have popped out overnight...I am grunting like a perve down the phone when get to top of stairs at the end of the day - am fine in am funnily enough and bump is smaller in am than pm...maybe its bloat... pregnancy....oooh the glamour Grin
