Hi All,

Just wondering if nerves about miscarriage ever go away.
I was petrified leading up to my 7wk4day scan following IVF but there was healthy baby.
Now my 12 week scan is 4th Nov and just lost all my postivity and feel nervous that baby will have passed.

Am i being stupid?

Not at all - I felt the exact same thing. This is our 3rd baby and it was unplanned - how that happened at the age of 35 I do not know!! Anyhoo, we talked about termination etc, but I decided I wanted the baby. I was then paranoid that I had tempted fate and that by the 12 week scan it would be a missed miscarriage to serve me right for thinking about having a termination. Of course it was completely fine at the scan. But whatever your circumstances, I think the worry of miscarriage is always there. Its just the first of many other worries!! The only thing you can do is try and look forward to it and what will be will be. I'm sure it will all be fine - is this your first? Hope it all goes well, will be thinking of you xx

Firstly, congratulations [hsmile]. It is perfectly normal for you to worry but please don't let it overshadow you enjoying your pregnancy.

As long as you still feel pregnant everything should be fine.

It's normal. I was a nervous wreck at all scans up to 20 weeks. It was only when I was really feeling baby move that I calmed down about them.

thanks all.

Still nauseous.
Scared myself silly reading miscarriage thread. Thought it would make me feel better if i knew i didnt have certain symptoms mentioned but then read up on missed miscarrages.

Sigh.

I do apologise how much i will worry till May 2011. I was a worrier before i got pregnant and i dont think its going anywhere soon :)

Hate to tell you this but the worry doesn't stop once you've had the baby. Just wait till you've got a little person who is totally dependant on you [hgrin]

Hi there, I'm 5 weeks pg and petrified of miscarrying. I think it's very natural and a lot of women on here seem to go through the same thing, doesn't make it any less terrifying in the middle of the night when I wake up with cramps though!

A little stat to make you feel better; once a heartbeat has been detected on a scan 90-95% of pregnancies go full term. Smile
