Does anyone know what pv stands for?

In my scan notes it has an extra comment - pv measures 5.5mm.

I'm trying to google and find out what this means and if its normal. Because its an 'extra' i'm assuming the measurement is abnormal - have appt. with mw next week so will find out then for sure.

But wondered if anyone can help? when googling it says pv means via vagina. But not sure that can be measured!

I think it means what you googled, but my dd said sometimes where the midwife measures her they take the tape measure right down and then say oh you are 1cm bigger than your dates, well she would be in they measure that far down.lol.

maybe it means from down there to a bit of a bump is 5.5mm i sure its nothing to be worried about.

Posterior ventricle probably. Also known as PVD sometimes. It is a normal structure in the brain and 5.5mm is a normal measurement. It is probably protocol that they record this measurement, it certainly is routine to measure it rather than an 'extra'. I presume this was at your 20 week scan? If you have any worries then ring the scan department to double check.
Hope that helps.

Good luck with everything.

Thank you. I know googling is dangerous!

I'm not overly concerned - more curious because it was written seperately in the comments section rather than the ready written form of measurements they complete iykwim.
