Im 16 weeks pregnant and have felt my baby move around from early on in the pregnancy (think its due to this being my 2nd). The past few days have not noticed anything but when we went for a scan on Monday just gone the baby was a sleep and we tried to wake it by me moving around and the lady showed me things to try and the baby did just not want to know! He/She was still a sleep! Just going to try some music any other suggestions to maybe wake baby up? Will go to docs on Monday if dont feel anything by then! Any suggestions?

It's not unusual not to feel the baby much so early, because they are only little and might be facing the other way, but if you are worried, call your midwife.

I drink very cold fresh orange juice then lie down and concentrate intently, that sometimes makes it easier to feel him or sets him off.

I was told (by a friend) to drink a glass of cold water, sit down and wait. Could be that the baby has shifted position. Also, 16 weeks is early even for a second IMO. This is my third pregancy and I felt nothing til after the 20 week scan. Having said that a trip to midwife for reassurance wouldn't hurt. I hope everything is ok.

the baby is only 16 weeks - it's quite unusual to get consistent, obvious sensations of the baby moving at this stage, whether its your first or your second. if you go to the doctor they will probably just try to find the heartbeat on a doppler, but at 16 weeks this can be tricky. it sounds too early to be worrying about this. my midwife said you should not really expect to feel baby moving all the time until about 20 weeks or so.

Its still early to be feeling baby move every day, my m/w said not until 25 weeks to start charting movements, there's still so much room for them to hide in!!! Another trick i found was to lie on sofa quietly and drink really ice cold drink, coke worked for me!!!Hope that helps Smile

Have a drink of pop or some sugary sweets. Its still quite early for you to be feeling lots of movement. If you aré really worried call antenatal and they will probably get you in to check you.
