Okay, I did this about a year ago but can't find the thread and I know there were some great answers on there so here goes again ...

My best friend is going to start ttc at the end of this month (health problems stopped her last year) and I want to put together a nice, helpful box of things to give her when she announces the news. I was thinking ...

*some lovely body lotion to soothe her tired, stretched skin towards the end
*A big bar of Galaxy (who needs a reason for that?!)
*A packet of post it's for forgetfulness
*Non- alcohloic wine so she doens't feel too left out at dinner

what else?!?!?

Thank you in advance

How about one of those soothing CD's for her to chill out to?

chloe55 · 13/09/2005 14:33

Somebody was selling some lollypops to sooth nausea at some point on here too, I could have done with those if I knew they existed!

BibiTwo · 13/09/2005 14:33

cool, I could get a baby mozart or something so her and the baby could relax

A little diary/notebook so she can keep a day to day account of the pregnancy if she wants

Moomin · 13/09/2005 14:53

Not wanting to pour cold water but isn't all this a bit previous? It took me 2 yrs to conceive baby no.2 and I felt under pressure enough when people that knew we were ttc asked how we were getting on... Do feel free to ignore me of course, but I'd prefer a preggers box when I was newly pregnant.

Cainsmum · 13/09/2005 14:57

Some bubble bath for nice relaxing baths during pregnancy, may be the last chance she gets for a while!!!

Nemo1977 · 13/09/2005 14:57

Cd i would recommend is the classic fm for babies as it send my toddler to sleep and me at 6mths pg..lol

Moomin - I think Bibi is planning on giving the box after she has announced the pregnancy - I guess there's no harm in early preparing.

BibiTwo · 13/09/2005 15:01

That's what I meant Moomin, I just like to get things done early. I wouldn't give it to her until she was pregnant of course because like you said, it can take a while to get pregnant. And I want it to be a surprise, so I wouldn't let her know I was doing it either.
She's only told me that they're going to ttc so I know she's aware of the possibility of it taking a while too.

sorry BibiTwo - I misunderstood. It's a lovely idea for when she's pregnant - you're very thoughtful.

novadandypowder · 13/09/2005 16:22

Here's a link for the morning sickness lollies someone mentioned below. Wish I knew about these a few months ago

SoupDragon · 13/09/2005 16:48

The Mumsnet "mums on pregnancy" book?

dropinthe · 13/09/2005 17:13

a disposable camera..?? After finally falling pregnant with dd, dh & I loved taking pixs of my daily expanding bump! Its given us something to show dd when she is old enough to understand where she came from & it also allows us now to look back at an amazing thing we went through.

BibiTwo · 13/09/2005 19:26

This is excellent, I'll definiately be getting her Preggie Pops lollies! Wish I'd known about them during the sicky period. Thanks, keep them coming! I think i'm going to need a hamper rather than a box!

Alcohol-free Becks is a MARVEL.

A big over-sized tee-shirt for the later months.

Body Shop Body Butter is good for the stretching skin, I find.

If she's got her belly pierced, a Pregnancy PVC belly bar.

Ooohh! I hope my friends are as nice as you when I start ttc in December BibiTwo!
