That being pregnant seems to open the way for complete strangers to comment on you body shape?

I had two ladies in work today ( I work in retail so am quite exposed on the shop floor) one who asked if I was due soon cos I was so big (am 25+3 and not that big) but then one lady who told me what a lovely neat 'all front' bump it was and how well I was carrying it. (I do look a like I've got a football shoved up my T-shirt [hgrin]).

AIBU in finding that it feels a little inappropriate.........

Yes totally - but i've drawn the conclusion that people just say whatever they think you want to hear! I've had so many contradictory comments its actually ridiculous! Just nod and smile politely through gritted teeth. People seem to think its funny or apporpriate to say 'hello fatty' at any given oppotunity, after a while it does start to grate somewhat!

Oh everyone seems to comment! Grin

If anyone tries call me fatty they'll be told where to go though. [hangry]

oh yes! one minute i'm massive! (usually mil) the next there is no way i can be 31 wks gone.

some say i have put on no weight and yet another thinks i have an extra chin since getting pg Hmm

i have learnt to ignore, ignore and then ignore a bit more!

I just gave up getting offended in the end - i dont look pregnant from the back so just figured they thought they were being highly original and witty for thinking of calling me fatty. So long as my hubby didnt start to say it though now he would have been told in no uncertain terms! Grin

I would never ever call somebody fatty and why people think its ok when you are pg is beyond me! - but as i say half the time they say it for something to say or to get a reaction - idiots!

One of the guys at work said 'Hello Fatty', so I just said ' my bump will be gone in a few months - what about yours?'. If you're at all thin-skinned, don't work with engineers...
