Third Trimester Busy Baby Activity!

Hi ladies
I have just turned 34 weeks and my baby has just started going crazy in there! I am getting booting all the time, wriggling, moving. It's happening quite constantly compared to before.
From experience has anyone else experienced this sudden change in activity or is it something I should be concerned about? I don't know if it's normal or if it means the baby is in distress?

Yep my second one was the same - super busy in the last trimester until he ran out of room. have friends who've had the same thing - they all turn out to be boys! I'm sure he/she isn't distressed, but if you are really worried pop to your local hospital tomorrow, they'll hook you up to the moniters and check that it all fits within normal parameters.

I'm only 31 weeks but I've had a bit of this. I asked my midwife about it and she said that this is fine, they never worry too much about an active baby as it is generally a sign of health. Pain in the womb for us of course, but baby is most likely fine. Agree with cheryl though, if it worries you a lot, do go to the hospital just to reassure yourself. they're used to it most likely.

Absolutely - the mid wives at the hospital would always rather you went in and put your mind at rest. I've done this several times at 2 different hosps with 2 different babes and have never once been treated as though I am being silly and time wasting. British midwives are fab - you'll feel instantly better. AS LLKH says, a baby that';s not moviing much would always be a bigger cause for concern xx

yes, twice, and again theyre both boys!
If youre worried, phone your midwife.

I'm 35 weeks, and mine has a wee sleep, then goes mad for a couple of hours, then sleeps. then it all starts again.
He also has hiccups ALL the time...

I'm 34 weeks and this has been happenign the last couple of weeks. Spoke to MW yesterday and she said it is fine.

I'm 33+1 and this has definitely been happening to me too in the last week in particular. It used to move what I thought was a lot before then but now it feels like wriggling all the time, to be honest I love it but it makes it very difficult to concentrate in work!

Im 33 weeks now and I can feel it more now then ever before, in particular all over the stomach and low down. I occasionally get ripples through my stomach which throw me back sometimes, I am wondering what these could be??

I can feel hiccups and movements but the ripples are something else !

Movements are particulary strong when I lie on my sides, or late at night when I am trying to sleep

I'm 38+2 and my baby has been active right through from when I first felt her - and she is no less active now. In fact, I feel like I am incubating an octopus !!! I found out at the scan I'm expecting a girl - I hope they got it right!

Nids the ripples - I get various typed of ripples. I'm fairly sure theyre just limbs being moved around dramatically. Remember, this is almost a fully grown/strong baby inside you now!
Also, I sometimes get weird spasms, which might be what you mean- as if the baby is shaking or something. No idea what this is, but I'm sure it's all pretty normal.

Be interesting to see if the boy theory is right....I have boy vibes but we are leaving it as a suprise.
It is very comoforting when it's wriggling about, but also quite distracting when you see your belly move like the loch ness monster is in there.

Vmcd28 - I think you are right, its the spasms they are wierd and I cant tell what they are its like a mini earthquake going on in there !! thanks for the explanation thought makes much more sense
