old wives tales..... are you a believer???

ok so i dont normally believe in all this but thought i'd google search it for fun to see if im likely to be having a girl or a boy. i hoping to find out at my 20 week scan which isnt till dec. but according to these old wives tales i should have a girl!!

Said 60% boy and 40% girl and I'm having a boy! Just luck I think!

Started off after the first few questions saying boy but ended up 60% girl...Correct!

It says boy but am convinced its a girl, not due til 23rd December so I'll have to wait and see.

Tis tosh! Everyone keeps telling me that because I have a very 'forward' bump, with no spread round the sides, it's defo a boy - except I already had the 20 week scan and they were very certain it's a girl!

Nope sorry a load of crap! I'm a student midwife so have seen a LOT of babies to know these tales are not accurate.

I got 100% Girl . Am only 10 weeks though so got a while to wait.

i am confused about the beachball/watermelon question.

I interpreted the watermelon question as: you know how soem people have really defined, hard,sticky out bumps? Well mine is just kind of squishy and round. Not sure if that's what they mean, but that's how I interpreted it...

I couldn't do the last section because I haven't felt baby move yet. But I got 70% girl, I'm convinced I'm having a boy though. Will let you know in 2 weeks when I find out.

Beachball/watermelon question... supposedly if your bump is round at the front (beachball) its a boy and if your weight is more spread out across your waist (watermelon) its a girl. Although I was told of more reliable sources this has more to do with your body type than anything else.

it's hard to know with these tests - my cravings change every week or two, my skin has changed etc, so WHEN are we meant to do these tests?! Also, my baby kicks everywhere, not in one area!

HOWEVER - 73% boy. Correct!

i got 73% girl, dont find out till 4 weeks but convinced its a boy as my partners side doesnt seem to make girls and we have a boy already

beckie, you're like me - my partner's family (my DS's cousins) are 7 boys and a girl. I'm having another DS. I'm sure there's more to this than coincidence?
