Breathlessness?

Am 25+3 tomorrow and am already experiencing some tightness in the chest and breathlessness if I walk up lots of stairs or walk anywhere too quickly. Is it normal to start experiencing this now?

I had that too, am 30wks now and its getting worse. Its partly to do with your body having to pump round so much extra blood, so you need to breathe in more oxygen. It then gets worse as your baby starts to take up your lung space! You just need to get used to walking more slowly. I have spd/pgp too so am taking tiny steps everywhere now anyway!

Breathlessness can also be a sympton of iron deficiency if you're getting it at other times - worth mentioning to your midwife next time you see her as she may want to do a blood test.

It can also be exasserbated by general pregnancy hormones. I get breathless and have done since early on in my pregnancy, but like Octavia says, get your iron levels checked.
