Early pregnancy Test

Please can anyone help me, I am freaking out a bit. I don't have regular periods so I don't know if I am late or not. Tonight I did a first response pregnancy test and one line is dark pink and the other line is faint, but visible. I waited an hour and did a second test and the result is the same. We only got married on 24 September, and we had abstained from sex up until then for a while, could a test really show a pregnancy that is so early?
I have headaches and feel bloated but that is all. I wasn't expecting this as the doc told me I need fertility testing and I have been on nigh dose steroids following a very bad asthma attack.
I know this sounds dumb but what do I do now? Just wait a while and test again? Do you think it means I am definitely pregnant? Should I stop my inhalers? If I am, what are the chances of me staying pregnant as it seems early and I still am on steroid based inhalers?
Sorry for all the questions. I'm a bit scared.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Debs - Yes first response will pick up pregnancy hormone this early - you will be nearly 4 weeks.

inhalers are fine, infact you must keep them up. Ring your GP and say you have had a positive preg test and are worried about the high does steriods. I had high dose setroid when I was 5 weeks and my DDis here nad perfect. GP said there would be no problem unless I was taking them at a high dose for a very long period of pregnancy.

Hi thank you for coming back to me, I really appreciate it. I have been on high dose steroids since July. Maybe i am seeing a faint line when there isn't one? I am very confused!

I f you have another test do it with first morning wee tomorrow or another day. If the line appears in the 5 minute time then you are pregnant.

Debs, according to my scan dates, I conceived on July 24th. I got a positive pregnancy test on August 7th, so it's perfectly possible.

My first tests were very faint. DH said I was looking for something that wasn't there. It was very faint but there was definitely a line, and yes a first response would show up now.

Go and see your GP asap and they can reassure you about your meds.

Congratulations btw!!!

I didn't have regular periods either, and when I saw a very, very faint pink line in the pregnancy window alongside the dark pink test line I was reassured it was nothing. It niggled me so I bought a Clearblue (not digital) test and the result came back bold as anything, the second line was very strong. I am now 26 weeks pg.

Maybe try another brand of test first thing in the morning to double check.

Although it sounds as though congratulations are in order. :)

I had no cycle, just bled every day. I was also told I'd have fertility problems and would need help getting pregnant. But 7 weeks after being told this I fell pregnant and had my baby on 24th september.
I don't know much about the tests as I didn't stop bleeding until I was 7 weeks pregnant, took a test at 8 weeks so the line was very strong.
I'd take another test from another company and maybe go to the doctor's to see what they say.
Good luck!

If the line is coloured and comes up within the guide time, then it's a positive. FR tests can go positive from 8 or 9 days after ovulation/conception, so there has been plenty of time for you to get pregnant since your wedding! See your GP for advice on meds.

I found that using the digital tests give a more clear indication. First two i used were the pink lines and as you got the 2nd line was faint and i was none the wiser...although a little more expensive at least it reads either pregnant or not...
