question about urine testing for glucose

I have been testing myself for glucose weekly. I'm 32 + 2 weeks. All been completely clear. Last did it on Thur. Then did it this morning and it was super super dark - as if max amount of glucose in the urine.

I did 2 more urine tests 45 minutes apart after this and both completely clear.

Does it make no difference if the subsequent tests were clear? I.e. do I have to wait for a period of time to test the urine again or would every urine test show up glucose?

I think that the later tests would be likely to be affected too if there was glucose in the urine - could the positive test have been contaminated by anything - did you have clean hands when you were doing it?

Hi, are you testing gluclse for GD?

Because i had GD in my last pregnancy and i never had any sugar show in my urine, also pregnant again and sugars are rising but still no sign in my urine.

I think I had clean hands - it's just odd that I've done a zillion tests (sometimes twice a week) and that one is almost black and no others have a trace. If it was showing in my urine, you'd think it would have showed at least more than once? I'm 32 weeks after all. But then again, what do I know!!

urine testing for glucose is not a reliable indicator for checking for diabetes. Much better to have GTT.
