Safe to visit relative with bacterial infection?

Quick question as we're due to leave soon and I'm having a wobble - I'm 18 weeks pregnant, anyone know if it's risky to visit a relative in hospital who has pseudomonas infection (bacterial infection in lungs)?

I told myself I was being precious but am just having last minute nerves about it - have had two mcs and am not up for risk taking!

Cheers

Jeely can you ring the ward and ask the staff and that way if it is a ward with other patients they can warn you that there maybe mrsa/ d&v bug etc on the floor, they will have the ans and the best people to ask.
Congrats on the pregnancy

Thanks that is probably the best thing to do rather than mad googling! Cheers

Don't google plse, mu Gran is in hosp and they were fab when would ring to check was it ok for my pg sis to visit, they were always very honest about the potential of cross infection and told her things like never sit on the bed, do not pick things up or approach other patients etc, It is all about being aware and sensible. I hope your relative recovers and gets home soon.
