I'm 33+6 and DD1 has had contact with chicken pox and is starting to show some signs (no rash yet). I had chicken pox as a child, can it still cause problems if I am exposed in pregnancy?

You should be fine. If you had chicken pox as a child you will have immunity. Even if you did contract it, in the third trimester there is no danger for the baby.

The only time to be concerned now is if you have it in the 7 days before you give birth, then the baby may be born with chickenpox and will need treatment.

There's a faint possibility of you getting shingles from your son's chicken pox but this is NOT infectious and the baby wont get it.

Cool, thanks. I read that it could cause premature labour but there was no info about whether that was still an issue when immune.
