Any ideas? Small gestational sac for dates?

Hi,

I've been having a few problems with this pregnancy. Firstly we thought it was ectopic. Went for a scan at 6+6 and saw heartbeat. Sonographer said that there was some bruising there and I may have a bleed.

I started to lose blood on Tuesday - it hasn't been much and all brown/old blood, until today when it seems slightly heavier, but still mostly when I wipe and some new blood now.

Anyway, had another scan today at 7+6, baby has grown and has a good heartbeat, but the sac has shrunk.

In my head I think it's game over, but everyone keeps saying that it has a heartbeat and is growing so maybe not bad.

Does anyone know anything about this or had any experience?

Thanks in advance

The margin of error when dating before 10 weeks is quite high - I had a scan at what I thought was 8+3 that measured me as 7+5, but when I had my dating scan at 12 weeks, I measured such that I would've actually been 8+4 at the first scan.

What I'm trying to say is that the change in sac size may be within the margin of error (i.e. there may not actually be a negative change at all) as its actually too early to date accurately.

A good heartbeat is a very good sign.

Thank you for your reply japhrimel.

I have another scan booked for next Thursday to see what's happening and the sonographer wanted to get another opinion from her boss as I think she was as confused as us.

I think I will have driven myself mad by next Thursday.
