I'm newly pregnant (only found out on Tuesday) and have a hair appointment scheduled for next week. I've looked at the NHS advice on dying your hair while pregnant and I know it's probably fine, but it does say that waiting till after 12 weeks reduces any risk, as does having highlights instead of putting dye directly on your scalp. I'm a brunette so usually have an all over colour, and I'm only 2-3 weeks, according to Clearblue anyway.
The thing is that my hairdresser is a friend who works from home, and I have my appointments at the same time as another friend. If I was to ask hairdresser not to dye my hair or to use a different kind of dye, I'd be as well telling them I'm pregnant. Even if I do decide to just go ahead with my usual colour, I know my hair could react differently to the dye, so it's probably wise to ask for a strand test beforehand, which would also make it obvious! But then so would green hair, to a hairdresser anyway.
I've not even told my mum yet. Hairdresser is also a bit of a gossip, god love her, so really don't want her to know.
Should I just stop worrying and get my normal colour? Any advice gratefully received!
