Sorry if this has been done before. Anyone had reflexology to start labour and has it worked? Really don't want to be induced!

i had it done by a friend and nothing, same friend did another friend of ours and went into labour that night. could be she was ready i wasnt in which case reflexology wouldnt make any difference but i do still tend to believe in it. my mums chiropodist and refuses to do my feet before 37 weeks incase she starts things moving. so must be something in it if medical pro's are against it. Confused

Worked for me, left the reflexologist appointment and contractions started coming every 10mins Smile As previous poster said I think you have to be 'ready' for any of these things to work really - including induction.

Worked for me too. I had about 5 sessions in all as started having them when about 7 months, DD was late by 6 days so had last appointment Monday after she was due. Reflexologist said to call if I needed an appointment the following Monday not to bother booking it - DD arrived a day an half later. Agree you need to be up for it - I only really did it as I love having my feet rubbed and being pregnant was a good excuse for regular treatments (sshhh, don't tell DP)I wasn't sure it would work, but am now a convert.

I had reflexology throughout my pregnancy (after 12 weeks) and went 10 days overdue despite the reflexologist trying twice to use it to get labour started. I know she has had success with other people whose babies were more 'ready' to make an appearance though. Worth having it anyway as very relaxing and you can ask the reflexologist to show you some pain relieving reflexology for DH to use in early labour.

Worked for me too, had my first and only appointment at 40 weeks and 2 days, and my contractions started that night. And even if it only worked because I was 'ready', which is certainly an important point, it was a wonderfully relaxing way to end the pregnancy. Not sure if I've been that relaxed since - 14 months on! :)
