Just been prescribed this orally. When should I notice an improvement and how much of an improvement?

Thanks

quickly if it is going to work. Certainly within 24 hours or so I think. Cyclizine is actually a better anti-emetic so if the metaclopromide doesn't stop you puking get yourself back to your GP and ask for cyclizine. I take both every day - one metaclopromide in the morning and a cyclizine morning and evening and that has stopped me puking.
In layman's terms - cyclizine acts on the vomiting centre in your brain. Metaclopromide also acts on the brain, albeit less effectively, but causes the valve at the top of your stomach to tighten up and the one at the bottom to loosen, so encourages food out of your stomach. If you are struggling to hold down food metaclopromide is good, but if you are sick all the time even if you haven't eaten anything you might do better on cyclizine. Good luck. I know its miserable. It does get better I promise. x
