very very unlikely that there is anything wrong if you have had no untoward pain or anythng if all was fine at the scan. I think I felt DS1 moving around 18weeks but you don't actually realise what it is at first. Good luck for the app.

Hi there, I had my 16-week midwife appointment today.

I was also hoping to hear the heartbeat, but the (very nice) midwife explained that she doesn't usually listen for the heartbeat at this stage as she often can't hear it - and this unnecessarily worries the mother.

She said she was happy to try if it wasn't going to worry me - I assured I'd be okay. So she listened, and couldn't hear a heartbeat.

But as my pregnancy has run smoothly so far, I'm fine about it.

Just wanted to add this in case you didn't hear a heartbeat either. I'm sure we'll be fine :)

All went fine. I heard the heartbeat, very active baby too :-) Phew! Now sit tight for the next scan
