NHS 20 week scan wern't able to tell me the sex so paying privately. This place in west malling seems by far the cheapest but I'm wondering if there's a catch to the cheap price (e.g. old machinary not as accurate etc). They also tell me I can get 3d pic of baby at the scan for no extra charge (bit dubious as to if they do this as it doesn't say so on their web site). Web site also doesn't give their sucess rate for gender scans. Any good/bad experiences? I need to book soon if I'm going to as they are getting booked up...

I didn't go to that one but went to one near london that was half the price of any others I researched. It cost 80 pounds and was great. They had a 90% accuracy rate but when I saw the scan it was pretty obvious to me that I was having a boy! I had actually you-tubed it so knew what i was looking for - but needn't have bothered!). I think as long as the technician is qualified you should expect the same accuracy as the NHS. None are 100% though. Good luck.

I have used them, had early scan, nuchal, anomaly (rather than NHS) and a growth/well being scan at 34 weeks, for this pregnancy - first used them 6 years ago - so they have been around for a while.

They are very good, lovely ladies who used to work for the NHS. Up to date equipment. We have DVDs of all of our scans from them and pictures as well.

Think if they can't tell gender at first visit, they will rescan for free. They asked me to come back, as they weren't happy with the pictures they obtained for the well-being scan...(although they looked fine to us).

Would obviously not hesitate to reccomend them.
