Im now feeling guilty because I had 2 bottles of smirnoff ice before I knew I was pregnant, and about 3 sips of some pimms at a festival in the summer.

Just interested to know though, how much did you all drink/are you drinking?

I haven't drunk in pregnancy but that show was over the top in my opinion. It came across to me as if it wasn't after showing all aspects of it only to say "This is bad, bad bad woman". I think the woman at the end summed it up quite well "We don't want to scare pregnant women. If you are having the odd glass of wine every now and again then you'll be ok but if you're having more than this then who knows".

And seriously... only in America can they make laws like that. How can you imply that someone has a duty of care to an unborn baby but still has the right to abort. Doesn't that seem a tad contradictory? (I'm pro-choice but this doesn't make sense). Basically from the moment you are pregnant you lose all your freedom to choose? The problem with this is where does it end? It is a dangerous can of worms. After making it illegal for pregnant woman to smoke and drink what next? Overweight or underweight? This can be unhealthy for a child. Arrested for not eating 5 a day?

Although Mammie that woman was being tried for attempted murder because apparently she had made comments about wishing to drink herself and her baby to death. Her defence council said that. If she didn't want the baby then she should have chosen not to have it not try and kill it by poisoning it. That was an evil thing to do.

Personally I think woman should be given the choice of using their own judgement but allow that judgement to be well informed. One point the program raised was that a lot of woman don't know the official guidelines and aren't able to make an informed choice.
