Hi,

Just been diagnosed with grade 1 placenta praevia ( 2.4cm away from os). Has anyone had experience of this and had any complications.

Hi lucybrad. I have placenta praevia, I'm not sure what grade but it is partly covering the os.

I am 36 weeks and have been booked in for a c-section at exactly 39 weeks.

I've not had any bleeding or anything so no complications, have been told to carry on as normal but to get in touch if I have any blood or feel any contractions.

I hope this helps, can't offer much but didn't want to leave you unanswered...

Good luck and try not to worry!

Oh Thanks for replying. I know mine is not covering the os so I should be reassured, but I am a terrible hypochondriac, so am stressed to the hilt that I will have a bleed or something!

It's hard not to stress but do try not to; I'm no expert but I know from reading stuff on here that even if you do bleed it's not necessarily that anything's going wrong and they'll look after you if that does happen.

It may still move further away as you get bigger anyway.

It took me a few days to get my head round (scan was only a week ago). Anything like that is a bit of a shock but hopefully you'll feel less anxious soon.

x

Hi missdt. i am 31 weeks and in hospital with placenta previa. i woke up last thursday morning with the most unbelievable bleeding. baby is still fine so they won't do anything yet. i am on complete bed rest and am not able to leave the hospital. i would not panic, but take things easy from what consultant has told me. as long as you have no bleeding you are safe. i don't think they will let me go more than 36 weeks, which i am ok with as i am getting v nervous every time i bleed or go to the loo.

hope everything works out ok.

missja is yours covering the cervix?
