Right, so, my last bub was pretty healthy 10lb 9oz, which was big enough!

But this one, this one has decided to supercede his brother...and I'm only 36 weeks.

He is measuring 45 weeks at 36+1.
I think ds was only measuring 38 at this time last time.

I am 5ft 4!!

No gd, no large amount of fluid - all baby.

Thank buggery I have my cs booked.

Sorry, am just a bit shocked.
No bloody wonder my pelvis groans every time I move.

45!!!!! Shock Confused

How am I doing this??

Sorry, no questions as such, just pure shock. Plus there's nobody here for me to complain to about this as dh at work.

Wow!
Just hoping they haver it wrong Hmm.

our Dniece was 10lb7 but dnephew was a weeny 9lb13.

CalaLilly · 12/10/2010 13:50

Wow- you poor thing! Out of interest, can I ask what size your OH is? I'm only 5ft but he is way over 6ft with rugby players shoulders... I am scared!

izzybiz · 12/10/2010 13:51

That has put me off anymore, my last Dc was 10lb 10oz, a natural delivery after two 7lbers, was quick, yes, was straightfoward too, but dear god the pain was horrendous!

I feel for you, thank the lord for that CS Wink

Threelittleducks · 12/10/2010 13:54

Dh is only 5ft 8. He is pretty skinny too - goodness knows how this is happening!!

How do I make such big babies?? There must be some genetic throwback in there somewhere!

Baby's head not engaged yet, so thinking this accounts for some of it - but bloody hell it's uncomfy!
2 weeks and 5 days to go until cs! Wish it was sooner!
There's more baby than there is me!

faverolles · 12/10/2010 14:16

Please, please come back after the birth and tell us how much your baby weighs :o

Threelittleducks · 12/10/2010 14:20

Ha ha ha! I will!
Was hoping it would be under the 10lb 9oz mark (ds was a week late and cs happening this time at 39 weeks), but now am not so sure!

I'm sure you'll hear my screams of disbelief from where you are if he is bigger!

whizzymummy · 12/10/2010 18:23

He he this has made me giggle - I thought my DS was big, 9lb 6 oz at 38 weeks but yikes!

Good luck ... :)

Wallace · 12/10/2010 18:54

Eek!

MrToad · 12/10/2010 18:57

Wow threelittleducks, that is impressive!!

I hope all goes well with your c section and I thank God you are not going to have to try for a "normal" delivery!

Threelittleducks · 12/10/2010 18:59

Yeah, I have a vague recollection of sitting in ward late at night with ds the night I had him. Ward nice and quiet, bay across from me getting filled with new mother. Midwife chatting to new mother about stuff. She looks at new mother's baby...

Midwife:"He's a big boy! How big was he?"
New mum: "I know,8lb 12!"
Me from behind my curtain: "PAH HA HA!"

When I had DD1 (a teeny tiny 6 pounder at 38 weeks) a woman came in overnight for a vag delivery.

I met her at breakfast with her toddler newborn in the aquarium next to her - he was 12 pounds Shock

He looked like he should have come out with a satchel and lunchbox!

Threelittleducks · 12/10/2010 19:09

[chuckling at 'aquarium']

It totally looks like a rocking fish tank!

I know - I'm all jealous of those who have nice petite babies. They are small and cute. Mine looked like someone had blown him up a bit. Very very chubby with puffed out cheeks!
12lb though - aiyah!

I remember being in awe that ds had come from me last time - I kept saying " that was in me!"

CountessVonKnackerstein · 12/10/2010 19:12

My DD was 10lb10, that was a bit eye watering.
I too had an EC with DS, so wonderful! He was going to be bigger than DD too.
Well done on getting EC, let us know how you get on! :)

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 12/10/2010 19:21

Oh wow. How brilliant. Grin

My friend had a 12lb 3oz baby. She's tiny. Her dh is an enormous Maori. Beautiful baby.

asdx2 · 12/10/2010 19:25

My little ds's second child was 11 lb and 14 oz He arrived quickly in so far as she had him stood at the side of the bed whilst the midwife was trying to book her in.
She said it was no worse than her 8lb 13oz first and easier than her 9lb 10oz third.
Luckily for me I didn't follow in the family tradition of big babies(my Dad was 13lb born)and none of mine have been 8lb or above.

Threelittleducks · 12/10/2010 19:50

Massive respect to the big huge baby carriers! And the ones who do it naturally - wowee!! I am in awe!! :)

Big bubs are supposed to be easier to birth (so I am told Hmm ) Would love a go, but really am a tiny lady.

There is something reassuring about a chunky baby. My heart did melt though when a friend let me hold her baby girl. She was a twin and a tiny 5lb 11oz when born - and only 1lb heavier when I held her at 3 weeks old.

One thing's for sure though - we never worried about ds losing weight or anything like that. He has always loved his food and sleep and he is really sturdy - even now. Just hope ds2 follows suit!

Trying to hold on to the feeling at the moment of how hard it is to carry such a big baby and chase after a toddler all day so that when I have newborn and recovering from cs I can see how it is better to have big weight out of me.
[hopeful emoticon]

It's very tiring being so big and immobile.

Weegle · 12/10/2010 19:55

I had a 12lb 12oz baby...

followed by twins who together weighed 2lbs less than that!

CS all the way Grin

Good luck for the next few weeks, bet you'll be relieved to have baby out!

Threelittleducks · 12/10/2010 20:04

12lb 12oz!!

OMG!! Shock

NinthWave · 12/10/2010 20:12

I met a woman in Sainsbury's today (I'm due tomorrow, we got chatting) and she was predicted a 9lb baby at her growth scan - her DD was nearly 12lbs Shock

She had her naturally but the consultant apparently had one foot on the bed pulling the baby out with forceps.

I love the sort of things that total strangers decide to share with other hugely pregnant women Grin

monkeyfacegrace · 12/10/2010 20:18

My ds was 4lb at 32+6. I will stick to that weight thanks!

Threelittleducks · 12/10/2010 20:30
Grin

They were going to try and forceps me last time - but it was cs (thankfully). He never dropped. This one doesn't look set to either.

4lb sounds nice! There is a lady at playgroup who had a 4lb 2oz boy at 33 weeks - she says she was very happy with that! Think I would be too!

I always think about my consultant last time. She predicted a 'nice 6lb-er'.
Same lady pulled ds out at cs Grin

Wish I had said 'told you so!'
Although have an inkling it's same consultant this time, so might save it for after she has [hopefully] stitched me up as neatly as she did last time.

If you are measuring that much over your weeks they should be sending you for a growth scan.

FWIW my second was 11 lb and 4 oz. My third was measuring big too but in the end he was a tiny 9 lb and 15 oz...
