Hi ladies. I have not really bought much in terms of maternity wear as I was of the opinion its a bit of a waste. I am currently 33 weeks and dont really need any now up until I deliver however I have been thinking all my non pregnancy jeans have a really small waist and if it takes a year to get back to normal does that mean really I will be wearing maternity jeans for a while? I have just seen some on ebay new ones at a decent price and I am wondering whether to buy them or not? What do other people think? I have no idea how quick I will get back into my old jeans and dont want to get them if its not necessary.

Thanks.

Hi, i am usually a size 10, rather than buying more maternity jeans i usually just buy some size 12 jeans for the weeks after the birth. The first 2 weeks i'm usually just in my maternity jeans, as i never just ping back into shape mores the pity. I find if i have a pair of the next size up jeans though and some leggings and long tunic style tops that they keep me going until i get back into my old jeans without having to wear maternity jeans for the post birth 5 or 6 months it takes for my stomach to start going down.
Thats what i do anyway because i've never loved maternity jeans, and i've tried lots of pairs out having been pregnant 6 times. Though i am over fussy i think Smile

With DC1, I was back in my pre-pregnancy jeans in less than a week (am a size 8 when not pregnant), in particular the low-waisted ones that were the most comfy. So unless you really need them for the rest of your pregnancy, wouldn't really bother getting them for after the birth - you'll find regular clothes to tide you over if you need to.

I think it's really hard to get decent maternity jeans, and it doesn't sound like you are putting on much weight, so I wouldn't bother if I were you.

right I will leave it then and see how it goes. I just dont want to be without any decent jeans for months if I cant get back into my skinny jeans as they are a 25inch waist and (although all my size is bump) I do have a large baby bump and cant even envisage getting my flat tummy and narrow waist back ever? Also I dont want to be really uncomfortable for months squeezing into them if they dont really fit any more?

I bought a couple of pairs of jeans in a size bigger which I wore after the birth. I got back into my old jeans about 5 months after having DD.
