Tens machine whilst pregnant

Do you know if i can use a tens machine during late pregnancy? I am 34 weeks. I used one during my last Labour but i vaguely remember someone telling me that i could not use it in pregnancy. But that was a long time ago and i have just found the TV control in the fridge so my memory is not at its best!

As far as I know you should avoid it in late pregnancy, as TENS can sometimes bring labour on - you could probably safely give it a test on your arm or something though!

Hiya, I have ben told by both midwife and person hiring the machine to me not to use it at all before 37 weeks- not sure if that's any help?
