Induction before 12 days over

Hi all I am 40+3 with my first baby. I am seeing my midwife on Monday and I was wondering if you think it would be wrong of me to ask about being induced sometime this week as my husband is in the army and he is being sent away on the the 18th for a week and if I happen to go 12 days over that will be the 19th. Obviously I am hoping to go into natural labour ASAP but my husbands boss has already said they would not send him home if I am induced on the 19th. I have no family around so I need him at home. If I have the baby before the 18th they wont send him away as he will be on paternity leave.

I don't think it would be wrong to ask, if the baby is ready and thats the army policy you're not hurting anyone, probably only yourself as induction is not a very pleasant experience! I wouldn't insist on it if they don't think it would be a good idea for medical reasons, but having support at the birth and in the week after is a good reason IMO to want the baby to arrive.

I am 33+1 with my first and I would be terribly upset if DH was not around for the birth and first week and I know he would be gutted too. Have you got a friend/s lined up who can help you out at the birth and in the days afterwards if DH does end up being away? I hope it all works out for you and good luck!
xx
