Jury Summons and High Risk Pregnancy!

I have been summoned for jury service. For the first two weeks in december.

Now I am pregnant after 7 mc's. DS1 was born at 31 weeks, DS2, my waters leaked from 30 weeks and I am suffering with hyperemesis which I am unsure whether it will stop.

DH is worried about the extra stress it will put me under as I will be 30 weeks pregnant by then and its a 40 min journey there and back.

Do you think this would be a good enough reason to defer until after the baby is safely hre?

Yes, can't think of why they wouldn't let you defer. I'm sure you only have to do it if you've already deferred twice. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! :)

Yes, of course it is! You may however need a doctor's letter.

Yes - if you give them the basic details of your medical history they will be afraid you will give birth in the middle of a trial!

I have jsut been in the same position although I am not a high risk pregnancy. I phoned the Jury Summoning Office and advised them I am pg, and they said I would be excused. I put it in writing and sent a copyof my scan results and I was excused (I was due to start on Monday and am 20 weeks).

With your history I am sure you will be excused too. They cannot risk the trial being interrupted if you are unable to serve.

Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

Thankyou all.

I plan to go the doctors on Monday and get a note. Hopefully it should be fine. :)
